Latest news (updated March 10)The school will start on Sunday March 10th at dinner, with a welcome reception and a buffet starting at 19:00. The first lecture will begin on Monday at 8:30.

Weather: Beware of the weather conditions, as we expect temperatures between 6 and 18 °C, with occasional showers. A raincoat is thus in advise, just in case. The sea is still a bit too chilly for swimming.

Posters : there will be a poster session during which each participant can display a poster describing his/her work, in terms that are understandable to all, i.e. not for specialists of your field only. Bringing your poster is not mandatory, but strongly recommended. The maximal poster size is A1 vertical, i.e. 85 (height) x 60 cm (width).
Lecture material : the slides of the lectures are available, see under Downloads (you need to register first with your usual credentials). You may want to bring your laptop in order to test some of the online tools that will be discussed, but this is not compulsory. The hands-on computer session will be run at the library, in Aristotle University, in a room that is already equipped with desktops. There is free WiFi at the hotel, and wireless network is accessible on Thursday at the university using your eduroam account, if you have one.
Programme: The programme will consist of general lectures, a computer session, and a debate on Wednesday evening. The lectures will cover both the cutting-edge science and some necessary background the methods for analysing the data. All lecturers are specialists in the field, who are involved in the COST TOSCA action, who hosts this school.
Some homework : all students have been invited personally by one of the lecturers to answer a couple of questions.
Power plugs: Greece uses 2-pin power plugs that are similar to those found in Germany and in southern Europe. See here for a picture. The voltage is 240V.
